Women’s Golf Training Facility

We defined the visual language for Western Michigan Women’s Golf’s new indoor training facility — integrating brand storytelling through wall graphics, typography, and spatial cues across three distinct rooms: the Short Game Studio, Putting Lab, and Simulator Lab. The result is a seamless expression of the program’s identity, where design and environment work together to elevate daily performance.
A donor-backed initiative gave Western Michigan Women’s Golf the opportunity to build a new home of their own — an indoor training facility that provides a year-round advantage for a Great Lakes region university. The challenge was to make the space not only functional but a true expression of program pride and identity.
More than a training space, this project was a chance to define who they are as a program. The goal: elevate recruiting, showcase investment in women’s athletics, and create a confident, unified identity that connects every athlete who walks through the doors.
Working closely with the project architect, we translated the program’s values into a clear design direction. Every graphic, material, and message was selected to create cohesion and impact — ensuring the space felt intentional, inspiring, and unmistakably Western Michigan.
The facility includes three interconnected spaces — the Short Game Studio, Putting Lab, and Simulator Lab — each designed with a shared visual language and unique character. The design pairs bold branding with a refined aesthetic, using custom wall graphics, typography, and signature statements that bring the Bronco identity to life. Scalable design solutions maximized visual presence within the project’s investment, creating an environment that inspires and endures. Unique elements exclusive to golf — textures, imagery, and tone — make the space distinct yet aligned with the broader athletics brand.
The result is a training environment that balances energy and elegance — an unmistakable reflection of Western Michigan Women’s Golf. The space has been celebrated by athletes, staff, and recruits alike, reinforcing the program’s commitment to excellence and strengthening brand consistency across campus.
